Prof., Emilio, Palomares, (ORCID: 0000-0002-5092-9227), Director and Group Leader at ICIQ and ICREA fellow. His current scientific interests span a range of targets with emphasis on materials for energy production and bio-applications in the context of electron transfer processes, photovoltaic applications, electrocatalysis and nanoscience. Most of his research focusses on photovoltaic applications and nanoscience, through the participation in several European and national projects. Since he joined ICIQ in 2006, he has published over 250 papers in peer reviewed journals having an h-index of 67. He has also filed 6 patents. Prof. Palomares has been awarded with several fellowships and received several research awards such as the the INNOVA Award by the SusChem and an ERC PoC. Since 2019 he holds de Energy & Environment Solutions (E2S) chemistry chair at UPPA University in Pau (France).
About his group
The research group is currently formed by 3 senior researchers, 3 postdocs, 3 PhD students, 1 master student and 1 lab technician from different nationalities. Their background encompasses materials science, physics, chemistry or industrial engineering, among others. Therefore, they have extensive experience in the construction and characterization of solar cells based in organic materials, perovskites, quantum dots or dye sensitised solar cells. Moreover, the group has expertise in the design and synthesis of materials with interesting optoelectronic properties to be applied in photoelectrochemical devices, and in the photophysical characterization of the materials and the devices, as well.
